True Multi-Modal Authentication Even in Harsh Environments
Innometriks Cheetah and Rhino readers are designed to provide authentication from multiple methods such as contact or contactless smart cards, PIN, and biometric fingerprint scanners. Reader configurations can be tailored to a wide variety of card types and card data formats. Fingerprint scanner models provide true one-to-many (comparing captured fingerprint data to all stored data to obtain a match), and one-to-one biometric authentication (comparing data captured to the suspected persons fingerprint to verify a match) and use an ultra-fast search algorithm.
Innometriks readers complement, not compete against, existing physical access control solutions and fill critical strong authentication gaps that exist in current generation physical access control systems. Readers feature industry standard Wiegand inputs and outputs and encrypted OSDP, RS-485 communication, giving them the ability to integrate with many of the physical access control systems on the market. Support applications maintain all critical authentication data in an industry standard relational database, allowing secure bi-directional physical access control system (PACS) synchronization.
Innometriks biometric readers are designed from the ground up to eliminate the issues typically associated with large-scale biometric deployments. The use of multispectral imaging sensors eliminates the issues that a small percentage of the population has when using biometric authentication such as excessively moist or dry skin, grease and soil covered fingers, genetic-based weak prints, and age related thinning skin.
Innometriks readers may also be implemented in both standalone and integrated applications requiring strong authentication of individual’s identities in non-PACS environments. These applications include time and attendance, point-of-use, manufacturing control and other applications where access to facilities, equipment or information must be securely controlled.
A principal differentiator in the Rhino reader is its ability to perform in harsh application environments. Supplied in an aluminum enclosure with options for case heaters and weather proofing, the Rhino exceeds competitive devices’ capabilities for outdoor and harsh environments. Rhino readers are vandal-resistant and heated models can operate in temperatures from -20° C to 50° C.

While the Innometriks readers offer multiple authentication options, moving to a high assurance solution with C•CCURE 9000 and Innometriks offers superior security and peace of mind. Leveraging the power and capabilities of both along with secure CIV credentials can provide identification with high confidence that the individual attempting access is who they are and whether they have access. The high assurance ID Server monitors the entity’s certificate authority to make validate credential certificates and check for revocations and invalidating credentials as necessary. All of this occurs with encrypted communication, reducing the possibility that credentials can be stolen or cloned.
Advanced Administration Tools
Windows-based management tools leverage the TCP/IP capabilities of Innometriks readers to provide remote access to reader settings, firmware and operating system upgrades over the network. Layered enrollment and event tracking roles allows responsibilities to be compartmentalized in high security environments. The enrollment console can also be used to add PIN, capture biometric fingerprints, and credentials for Innometriks readers not integrated to a PACS.
